Dance Your Heart Out

Every year, there is this huge fundraiser to raise money for HIV/AIDS. What is this fundraiser you ask? Well, a bunch of people come together at the mall of america to dance for 12 hours straight. No, you heard me right, 12 HOURS!!!! This epic event took place on saturday, March 6th. It was an absolute blast!! However, it did take quite a toll on my body. Lets just say I can't really feel my entire body. A lot of people ended up leaving at about the 8 hour mark...but my one sister and I danced the entire 12 hours. Just let me repeat myself one more time...12 HOURS!!!!!!! That's a lot of hours of straight dancing. In total we ended up raising 42,337, to send an entire group of kids to summer camp this summer.
Not only were there actual AIDS survivors there, such as a 14 yr. old boy named Darrell whom after yesterday I am very proud to call my friend. He contracted AIDS through a blood transfusion when he was only 4 days old. Can you even imagine? I know I can't even begin to understand everything he has been through.
In addition to Darrel and a few other survivors that were there, there was also some celebreties. Such as;
  • Jonathon Bennett-Aaron Samuels from Mean Girls

  • Robbie Amell- True Jackson VP
  • Paris Bennett- American Idol winner (Season 5)
It was really cool, because I got to hang out with them all day. I even won a lunch with them, and then after the event, I also got to hang out with them at the after party. Everything was for a really good cause. It was really difficult, but still incredibly fun and totally worth it.
