Tears

Why is it so hard to get away
From the pain day to day
Sweet sadness fills me when you walk by
You glance past and catch my eye
Your soft skin provides an everbinding heat
It makes my whole world turn beat by beat
I catch my breath deep down inside
The heat is a cold no one can just push aside
I hate you and myself for not fighting this act
You pull me in and I fall right back
Each night I scream inside my head
Hoping you will just leave me in my bed
All of this happens in that moment so out of line
When your thoughts reached through you and into mine
Why do I keep telling myself this lie
The only thing left is to do is now is...cry.

sunday. Sunday. SUNDAY!!

Football sundays are always unique.
Each week we put on our team's jersey
We bust out the snacks
And soon enough the TV is on and kick off begins
The Vikings are the team of choice in my house.
The craziness begins the second Brett Favre steps on the field.

We are originally from Wisconsin, so naturally we liked the Packers
However, as soon as good ol' Brett decided to switch...

We decided to turn to the side of our long time rivals...
The Minnesota Vikings!!
Now, with every sack by Jared Allen
And all the pile-ups forged by Adrian Peterson
The Schulz family erupts into a series of yells and cheers
As we support our new Vikings on football SUNDAY!!

**Snowflakes**

**Snowflakes whirl around me **
**A single pane of glass separates me from the cold**
**The flakes fight for survival when they hit the wet ground**
**Soon enough they gather around me**
**They cling to one another to create one mass**
**Protecting me from the gusts of wind whipping off the trees**
**They won't last long...**

**The wind starts to deteriorate my fortress**
**They whisper goodbye**
**For they will be back next year**
**To protect me once again**
**From the crisp winter wind**

Snow Day

She stares out the window as the snow falls down. She fumbles around for the remote. The TV is on in a flash. She leans forward, on the edge of her seat. Still fidgeting with her fingers, she pauses only to brush the curly blonde hair out of her face. As she squints at the screen, a smile breaks her hard face. In a flash, she yells out loudly. Her feet are on the ground in a second, and she is jumping high into the air.

There is one situation that every kid wishes for throughout the whole winter. As they stare wide eyed out the window as the snow falls down, they check the TV every minute to see if anything has changed. In the morning when they awake...immediatley, snow pants go on, neighbors are called, and hats and mittens are layered on. The beautiful snow scene outside is about to meet its match. There is no school, and the kids will celebrate.

It's a snow day!!
Let it Snow!!

Irreplaceable

What happens to a light when the bulb runs out?
Or a glass vase shatters on the floor?
A car crashes?
A person dies?
What happens?
There is no answer...only that nothing important is replaceable.
When something is gone...it's gone.
So just think about that the next time something breaks, and you just respond with..."we'll just get a new one"
There is not always a new one.
Some things are just irreplaceable.

Chicago

Every once in a while my dad will go off to a business conference somewhere in the US, and we will just kind of chill at home while he is gone. This time thought...we actually got to go. This weeks converence was about ultra sounds and it was held in Chicago. While he was at that, my mom, my sister, and I forged the city on foot. First we went out to lunch at this really cool restaurant called Rockits. They had the best burgers ever!! After that, we walked along the streets downtown and we checked out various shops and parks. We ended up at Millenium park which the flood every year to make a huge ice rink. But that wasn't the best part in my opinion. The best part of millenium park was a huge mirrored ball in the center of this empty space.

That was a lot of fun. After that, we headed over to this German holiday market square. It wasn't exactly as fun as we were expecting, but it was still cute. When we were done there, we met back up with my dad and we went out to eat at this one thai restaurant. It was really good as well. After we were done eating, we went over to the Lincoln Zoo. They do this special thing every year where they deck the whole zoo out in christmas lights, and they open it up at night. Last, when we were finished at the zoo. We took a cab on over to Navy Pier. That was really cool as well.
